The HostelASCENT OF SAFED was founded in 1983. It has been located since 1990 in a former hotel building in the picturesque old city of Tsfat.

MealsIn the summer, breakfast is provided daily. During the rest of the year, food is served only on Shabbat and during the special monthly seminars, or catered by special arrangement.
ToursDuring the summer, walking tours of Tsfat, hikes in the Galilee, and van tours of the Golan Heights are offered a few times a week, including several for free. During the rest of the year, they take place during seminars and by pre-arrangement for groups of six or more.
Shabbat HospitalityBefore each Shabbat and major Jewish Holiday, it is possible, by pre-arrangement, to be a guest for the festive evening and morning meals with friendly, English-speaking local families. The Third Meal is enjoyed together at Ascent by all the guests and members of the Ascent staff. Please bring appropriate clothing for shuls and for meals with families.
FeesFor a bed in the men's or women's dorms (4-6 to a room), we request a daily contribution of 60 shekels. You can earn up to 20 shekels a day in rebates for weekday class attendance plus another five shekels for filling out thoroughly the evaluation form. A private room for one or two people requires a donation of 180 shekels, with extra beds for adults at 40 shekels each and for children at 20 shekels each.
On Shabbat a dorm bed requires 120 shekels (students: 80 shekels) and a private room for a married couple, 300 shekels. Also, on Shabbat there are no rebates, breakfast or tour. However, there is no extra charge for meal placements or the Third Meal, and staying over Saturday night too costs only 50 shekels (or 150 for a a private room). There may be a different fee schedule for Jewish holidays and for the annual Klezmer Festival. Please contact us thirty days before.
